BNP Joint Secretary General Advocate Abdus Salam Azad said that the Awami League government had strangled the country’s media, Awami League has killed numerous journalists like Sagar-Runi. BNP will ensure media freedom if it comes to power.
He said, The Awami League government has made various excuses regarding the registration of online media. Online media owners or editors who are involved in Awami League politics have only registered their newspapers. The media which published news criticizing the Awami League government were not given registration.
He also said that if news was published against the misdeeds of Awami League, they would be forced to remove the news by telephone from the Ministry of Information. The statement-oppression of the past few days has been the same as the announcement of the last 15 years. But BNP will ensure all kinds of people of our country in power.
