CT Division requests UNDP for thorough investigation against some consultants, appointed by UNDP in a2i programme

Dhaka: ICT has asked UNDP for conducting a thorough investigation of the allegations against some consultants who are appointed by UNDP Bangladesh for agency to innovate (a2i) programme under ICT division.

This information is passed through a letter, sent to the Resident Representative of UNDP Bangladesh today, signed by Zillur Rahman, Deputy Secretary of ICT division.

According to the letter sent to the UNDP Bangladesh representative, the ICT Division has recently become apprised of complaints against certain consultants employed by UNDP Bangladesh about their conduct and activities which has got circulated through social media. If proven, these allegations may undermine the credibility and effectiveness of the joint venture and collaborative efforts between the ICT Division and UNDP Bangladesh.

Given the importance of transparency and accountability in the joint initiative, ICT Division requests UNDP that their office should initiate an immediate and thorough investigation into these allegations. ICT Division also appeals UNDP Bangladesh to take appropriate actions against any individual found to be in violation of UNDP’s standards and ethical guidelines.

The letter also ensured UNDP about their assistance if required in any way to facilitate this process.
