Dhaka: An Iftar gathering and the distribution of Eid honorarium checks to journalists were organized by the Bangladesh Journalists Unity Council on Monday afternoon at the Fakirapul Hotel Center in Dhaka, in the Rahmania International Rooftop Ballroom.
The event was chaired by Sabbir Ahmed Roni, the founder chairman of the Bangladesh Journalists Unity Council, and the chief guest was Rofikul Islam Jamal, the Religious Affairs Secretary of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).
The event was inaugurated by Khan Nazrul Islam Hannan, the Chief Spokesperson of the Bangladesh Journalists Unity Council.
The keynote speaker was Shariful Islam Khan Dollar, President of the Bangladesh Online Media Association (BOMA).
The welcome address was delivered by Lion Mohammad Bashiruzzaman, Chairman of Mac Tower Limited.
Special guests included Mohiuddin, Head of News at Desh Television, Ahmed Abu Zafar, Chairman of the Trustee Board of the Bangladesh Mofossil Journalists Forum, Lion Khan Akhtaruzzaman MJF, Lifetime Member of the Bangla Academy, Mohammad Monirul Islam, Chief Adviser of the Bangladesh Journalists Unity Council, and Manjurul Islam Tipu, Chairman of Swapin Foundation.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Mohammad Moktar Hossain, the founding General Secretary of the Bangladesh Journalists Unity Council.
Present at the event were the Saleh Mohammad Rashid Alok Asst General Secretary of the Bangladesh Online Media Association (BOMA), organization’s Joint General Secretary Rofikul Huda Babu, Organizational Secretary Mustafizur Rahman, and others.
The event was conducted by the conveners of the event celebration committee, journalists Sayem Islam Tutul and Zahirul Kaiyum Mithu.
